If you have recently been diagnosed with hearing loss, then you might now be searching for the right type of hearing aid to suit your needs. To be able to do this effectively, you need to understand the three top hearing aid styles on the market.
Behind the ear (BTE)
The first style that we are going to look at is behind the ear. This style has a microphone that sits behind your ear on the outside, and a small, clear tube that is placed inside your ear to relay the sound.
In the ear (ITE)
The next style that we are going to look at is in the ear style. This one is smaller than the behind the ear style and works in a slightly different way. These need to be custom made by your audiologist using a mold so that it fits perfectly into your ear
In the canal (ITC)
Finally, there are in the canal hearing aids. These are slightly larger than in the ear style, but that comes with its own benefit. The increased surface area means that the device will be less likely to pick up feedback, making for an overall more pleasant experience.
