Dr. Cyrus Gakuo Karuga
Dr. Cyrus Gakuo Karuga graduated from the University of Nairobi Medical School in 2003, having garnered multiple awards for academic excellence in his undergraduate years. In 2011, he completed specialist training and received a Master’s Degree in Medicine (M.Med), in ENT, Head and Neck Surgery. His ambitions are to raise ENT, Head, neck and Hearing healthcare in Kenya, and find new ways of improving the treatment and outcomes. He is also a Lecturer and a faculty member at Jomo Kenyatta University of Nairobi, Department of Human Anatomy and has published 4 academic papers, in leading Journals. To crown it all, he has authored a book titled: ‘Risk factors for early complications of tracheostomies at Kenyatta National Hospital. ‟ published by LAP Lambert publishers. Further, Dr. Cyrus has mentored, trained and attended several courses among them, Head and Neck Surgery; Advanced otology; Temporal bone dissection, as well as functional endoscopic sinus surgery and dissection.
Dr Karuga has been an executive member for the Kenya ENT society for the last 6 years, currently the National Secretary. He has been involved in the organization of the annual KENTs conferences as a conference secretary and other roles. He is also a member of the editorial team for the East and Central African journal of otolaryngologists that has a biannual publication.
Dr Benson Wahome
Dr. Wahome Karanja is a regionally renown ENT specialist froholds a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (M.B. Ch.B.) and a Master’s Degree M.Med, in ENT, Head and Neck Surgery. His clinical interests include Head and Neck Cancer Treatment, Ear Surgery, Sinus and Skull Base Surgery, Neurotology, as well as pediatric ENT. With international training from the premiere RWTH Aachen University in Germany he gained the technical knowhow to provide world-class ENT specialized services.
Dr. Benson is a passionate learner with a flair for research, academics and teaching. To his credit are numerous publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals as well as key presentations in international conferences in India, Canada, Germany, New Zealand and Vienna Austria among others. He is currently involved and working on a proposal for a landmark study on Hearing Loss in CMV and HIV-infected children with a team headed by a leading Epidemiologist Prof. Jennifer Slyker form the University of Washington.
Dr. Benson has been the Director and the Founder of Prodigy ENT & Hearing Clinic from 2013, a premier world class ENT Group Practice in Kenya keen on growing into a robust Daycare Surgery Centre. With a strong belief and objective of using his skills and experience to lend a significant contribution to rhinology and skull base surgery, Dr. Benson is passionate about improving the lives of people in Kenya and beyond through mentorship, research and training. Insurance Coverage
To determine if your insurance plan covers the services, contact your health insurance representative. To ensure proper billing for your services, it is important that you bring your current insurance card with you to all appointments.
Co-payment
If your insurance plan requires a co-payment, you will be expected to pay that amount at the time of your appointment. This may apply to all chargeable services, procedures or any other services that your insurance carrier states is your responsibility. For your convenience, we accept cash, cheque, as well as credit and debit cards.
Referrals
Your insurance plan may require a referral from your primary care physician before receiving services at Prodigy. If so, please contact your primary care physician to request a referral in advance of your appointment. This will help to assure that your services are paid for by your insurance company
